WIND Hellas carried out preventive work and preparation of the network to ensure its subscribers’ continuous connectivity and communication during the recent extreme weather events. At the same time, the National Network Management Center was on high alert for immediate intervention, dealing with technical issues from the first moment.
In the days leading up to the unprecedented snowfall that hit several parts of the country, WIND technicians and its network of partners inspected remote installations and performed maintenance work and tests to ensure that the network operated in extreme weather conditions. The preparation contributed to the immediate resolution of issues that arose in the areas most affected, with the technicians responding immediately, without any operational problems in the network.
The areas where the biggest problems of access to infrastructure occurred were Attica, Andros, Evia and Heraklion, Crete.
Understanding the increased communication needs during the severe weather phenomena, WIND Hellas, through a remote monitoring system, has an accurate and direct view of the situation of its network so that the intervention is immediate, ensuring continuous and seamless communication and connectivity.
